What your device needs
Web without an account
Reminders can appear while the app is open. Local web profiles do not receive background notifications when it is closed.
Web with an account
Background notifications use Web Push and require an account, sync, internet access and allowed notifications in a supported browser.
Installed mobile app
The separate mobile app can schedule local notifications in the operating system. Permissions, battery settings and device rules affect delivery.
Test with Reminder check
- Open Reminder check in AutoDay’s menu.
- Check the channel and follow the actions shown for your device.
- Allow notifications if you want to enable them.
- Run the offered test and check delivery.
- For a background test, close or background the app as instructed and wait for the notification.
If a reminder is missing
Start with Reminder check. Also check Do not disturb, permissions and battery restrictions. Exact Android alarms may need separate permission. A force-stopped mobile app may need reopening before new reminders work.
Web Push on iPhone and iPad needs a compatible system version and the web app added to the Home Screen. Reminder check shows the support available in your environment.
Imported dates and sensitive notifications
ICS reminders may be included on import. Check the preview and test delivery on your intended device. Settings let you choose neutral lock-screen text for sensitive content.
