Privacy and account deletion

This page describes cookies and device storage. The privacy policy covers all personal data processing. To close your account, Delete account and calendar data provides both the account flow and a contact option without signing in.

You do not need to accept tracking

AutoDay uses no analytics cookies, advertising pixels or tools that track you across websites. Cookies and other storage support calendar features, sign-in, security and settings. Such necessary storage normally does not require consent. The information notice is therefore not a consent request.

You can always open Cookies & storage in the web app. Information pages link here in their footer. If we introduce tracking that requires consent, you will receive information and a voluntary choice before it starts.

Sign-in cookies

These first-party cookies support AutoDay sign-in, not statistics or advertising. In production they have the __Secure- prefix and travel over encrypted HTTPS. JavaScript cannot read them (HttpOnly).

__Secure-better-auth.session_token
Purpose and content: a signed session token identifying your sign-in, without calendar text. Retention: up to 30 days with Remember me; this may renew with use. Otherwise it is a session cookie. Without Remember me, the server session lasts at most one day. Signing out ends the session and clears the cookie when the server is reachable.
__Secure-better-auth.dont_remember
Purpose and content: a signed yes/no marker keeping a sign-in temporary without Remember me. Retention: the browser session. Restoring browser tabs may affect when session cookies are removed.

Local HTTP development omits the __Secure- prefix. AutoDay’s own server sets these cookies and receives them back for authentication.

Storage on your device

IndexedDB, localStorage, sessionStorage and offline caches also store information on your device. They are not HTTP cookies. The following storage is used by AutoDay, not analytics or advertising providers.

Purpose and content: colour mode, palette and language, for a consistent interface. Defaults may be saved at first start; you can change them in Settings. Retention: until replaced or site storage is cleared, with no automatic expiry.
autoday.storageNotice · localStorage
Purpose and content: information version and when you pressed Got it. No user ID or permission to track. Retention: the notice stays closed for at most 180 days. It appears again after that or with a new information version. The record remains until replaced or storage is cleared.

Purpose and content: returning to the right view and date after account actions, temporary profile markers, messages and technical reminder status. Retention: until consumed or the tab session ends. Browser session restoration may preserve it longer.
autoday-profiles, autoday, autoday-guest and account profile databases · IndexedDB
Purpose and content: local calendar entries, imports, reminders, settings and sync status. The profile registry separates guest mode and accounts and may include account ID and email. Retention: until you delete data, remove a local profile or clear site data. Signing out does not automatically delete the local calendar copy.
autoday-* · Cache Storage and service worker
Purpose and content: app files, icons and information pages for offline use. API responses and calendar text are not cached here. Retention: old app caches are replaced when a new version activates. The current cache remains until replaced or site data is cleared.

The browser may also clear local storage, for example when space runs out. Back up important plans. The mobile app partly uses other storage technologies, including SQLite for the calendar and platform secure storage for sign-in.

External services you choose to open

Continuing to payment or the customer portal opens Stripe’s service, with its own cookie and privacy information. AutoDay does not embed Stripe payment scripts on the home page. External links in your calendar open when you choose them. Reminders and sync are separate features; closing the information notice does not activate them.

Change or remove information

Change language and appearance in Settings. Sign out through the account menu and choose to remove the local copy in the sign-out flow. You can also clear AutoDay’s cookies and site data in your browser.

Export a backup of local plans you want to keep first. Clearing storage may sign you out and remove calendar data that exists only on the device. Clearing the browser does not delete your server account or information already synced there.
